Getting started with your space

Your Menestrel space does one thing: it lets you edit the texts, images and listings of your website without knowing anything technical. This page shows you how to get in, what you will find there, and why you can explore without worry.

No password to remember: you receive a sign-in link by email.

  1. Open your space’s address. The person who built your website gave it to you, usually in your invitation email. Bookmark it so you can find it again easily.

  2. Type your email address, then click “Send me a sign-in link”. The screen shows “Check your inbox”.

  3. Open the email and click the link. You are signed in, that’s all.

The link is valid for 15 minutes and works once. Too late? Click “Resend link” and a fresh one goes out right away.

The home page shows “Pick up where you left off”: your most recently edited content, one click away.

The menu (on the left on a computer, behind the three-line button at the top of the screen on a phone) has three areas:

  • Home: your recent content.
  • Media library: your website’s images and documents.
  • Content: everything you can edit, sorted by type. The names depend on your website: a restaurant might see “Dishes” and “Menus”, a tradesperson “Services” and “Past work”. Click a type to open the list, then click an item to edit it.

The space is available in French and English. By default it follows your browser’s language. To change it, open “My account”, then “Interface language”, and pick “Français” or “English”. This setting only affects menus and buttons: your website’s texts stay untouched.

Nothing to install: your space runs in the browser, on phone, tablet and computer. It is the same account everywhere. A page you start on your phone between two customers can be finished on your computer in the evening, exactly where you left it.

Three safeguards are always on:

  • Everything is saved automatically. While you type, the space shows “Saving…” then “Saved at” followed by the time. No button to forget: close the tab whenever you like, nothing is lost. Even without a connection, your changes are kept on your device and sent once you are back online.
  • Your live website only changes when you publish. Editing a text in your space does not touch what your visitors see. Reread, hesitate, come back tomorrow: nothing goes live until you click “Publish”.
  • Every version is kept. Your previous versions stay in the history, and deleted content goes to the trash, where it stays for 30 days. Plenty of time to change your mind.

You are ready. Open a piece of content, change one word, watch “Saved at” appear with the time: you already know the essentials.
